Jesus Vs. Other Gods

I just finished reading a wonderful book, Jesus Among Other Gods, by Ravi Zacharias.  Mr. Zacharias is one of the leading apologists for the Christian faith but began his life as a Hindu.

The author compares Christianity and what Jesus said to the other major religions, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, pantheism, New Age and Humanism.  All regions cannot be right because each one has a particular way of defining who God is and is not, which then defines its followers’ life purpose.

Christianity is the only religion based on a person that said He was the only way to God and that we can each personally know God and absolute truth.  Jesus Christ did not only teach His message, He was identical with His message because He is God.

Jesus gives His believers a standard of spiritual love to follow that is way above any other religion’s moral requirements.  And along with this high standard, Christians get Jesus Christ’s supernatural help in a close personal relationship with Him.

When Christianity is compared to other religions, Christ and His love is truly a miracle.  Jesus is available to any one, any where at any time for a miraculous life change.

Holy Help

The Lord will help us with all areas of our lives when we prayerfully ask.  Nothing is too small or too big.

I stopped at by daughter's house for short visit before going to my next appointment.  As usual we got talking and time flew until I realized that I was now running late.

After I left for my next appointment, I prayed for a short cut that would get me there on time.  Immediately, the Holy Spirit reassured me and told me where to turn, and then the next turn, next turn and so on until I didn't have any idea where I was.

Suddenly, the Holy Spirit told me to look right and there was the location of my appointment.  I pulled into the parking lot, still reeling from the strange experience and looked at the clock.

I was ten minutes early, left ten minutes late and only took ten minutes to get there.  I am amazed how easier my life is when I follow the Lord.

Thank You, Jesus, for answering all of our prayers, no matter how small or how large the need!

Pray For Holy Direction

My husband and I went to an art show this past weekend.  He had been working on Christian paintings but was unsure because so many people had told him religious art doesn't sell.

So we prayed for God to give us a sign on this Christian art and we sure got one.  We had people praising, buying and even someone in tears.

A man told us that he connects with God through art.  These wonderful testimonies gave us the confirmation we needed.

Holy direction gives our lives wondrous, joyful meaning and is only a prayer away!

A Wonderful Mother's Day

My daughter that almost died last year gave me a wonderful testimony for Mother's Day.  She sent me a picture that spoke to my heart and told me that we had the same Spirit.

The picture said: Let us be Silent that we may Hear the Whisper of God.  This is a powerful truth.

If we don't seek Him, we won't know Him.  Thank You, Lord, for teachings us Your ways!

The Best Miracle

In the last two blogs I've been sharing my struggle on giving up control to Jesus.  After I failed Him the first time, I asked for another chance to be directed again but failed the second time, too.

So then when I repented, I asked to be slowly taught on how to follow His spontaneous direction.  I'm fairly good with planned directions but the immediate requests I refused to do until I had thought about it, which meant the opportunities had passed.

For this last week, I've seen people paying for strangers' purchases when they ran short and had people tell me how important this is to do.  The Lord is teaching and helping me to change into a more giving, loving person.

The best miracle is when we let go of our selfish, fearful, angry, worldly, sinful behavior for spiritual growth.  

Holy teaching for spiritual growth is only a prayer away!

Relinquishing Control

One of my greatest challenges for walking the Christian life has been turning over control to Jesus.  As I bring an area into obedience with Christ, another area to work on gets pointed out.

My current challenge is time management, which has been a long struggle.  I think Lord Jesus decides how I spend my time until I get tested and fail.

In morning exercise class, I prayerfully asked what I should do next.  I was told to leave the room now.

I was so surprised that I argued with the Lord on how it would disrupt class, upset the teacher, diminish my workout and was not a good idea.  Then I thought about this for about 15 minutes and realized my foolishness.

So I repented and decided to leave, but then the Lord told me to stay because it was too late.  Supernatural counseling and direction is only a sincere prayer away!

Miraculous Lessons

When working on discerning God's internal voice instead of my own thoughts or other voices, I asked Him for help.  He gave me many lessons but a few really stood out.

Right after taking a shower at the gym, I put my locker key in my pocket.  While still feeling it, I heard God tell me that my key was not in my pocket and, sure enough, it had disappeared.

Unsuccessfully, I looked all over the locker room, which included the lock on my locker.  My only option left was praying, so I did.

Then God told me that my key was in the lock on my locker and, sure enough, it was.  I learned a lot from these games, but sometimes I needed to know quickly.

For absolute confirmation, God would give me His supernatural love with His words.  This miracle would confirm it, and I learned how to follow His will.

Praise the Lord!  He is the ultimate Teacher!

Be A Successful Christian

In Apostle John's letter to the Christians, he wrote proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ and how followers obeyed His commandments.  As children of God, believers needed to test their spiritual input to discern if it had a worldly or holy view, so they were not deceived.

Since God is love, they needed to love one another to know Him and be complete in His love.  Also, Christians needed to ask for things according to God's will and pray for others.

What excellent advice!  Christians must follow Jesus Christ, test their spiritual input, be loving, only want God's will and pray for others.  This is definitely a formula for successful Christians!

Christians Must Stand Out

The letter to the Hebrews was to verify the authority of Jesus Christ and how His sacrifice was always the plan for humanity's salvation.  

The believers needed a sincere faith, so they could love each other, do God's will, fight their sin nature and persevere against persecution.  If they fixed their eyes on Jesus, they would leave the material world behind and welcome their tests of endurance.

What great advice!  All Christians should acquire a sincere faith to overcome this world and prepare for the next life.  

If spiritual maturity was the goal of every Christian, then we would stand out from the world and set an example for others to follow.

Grow Spiritually

With the second letter to the Corinthians, Paul addressed conflict, love and spiritual growth.  

He used his own life of suffering and danger to verity the truth he preached.  Also, Paul shared wondrous visions and revelations from the Lord that took him to greater spiritual heights.

When people reduce the conflict and raise their love, spiritual growth will result.  

The Lord will give anyone that qualifies with sincerity and truth amazing visions and revelations.  

Greater spiritual heights are available for all believers!

Soul Surfer - A Must See Film!

The movie, Soul Surfer, is the inspirational true story of Bethany Hamilton based on her book by the same name. When Bethany was 13 years old, she lost her arm in a shark attack when she was surfing with friends. It was a miracle she survived.
