My Writing Buddy

I enjoy a cat sitting on my lap while I'm writing.  Last year our cat disappeared, so after 6 months of praying for his return, I began to ask for a new one, also.

The Lord sent me to our neighbors for house sitting their cats while they worked out of town for the winter.  After that, I went back to praying for a cat.

Just recently another neighbor's cat had kittens and she found homes for all but one, so she asked us.  This kitten had a cross on her back, so I took this as a sign!

But to make sure, I told her we must pray about this first and would let her know.  I prayed and the Lord said, yes!

My husband prayed and had many good reasons why this wasn't a good time to add another expense.  A big reason being the medical bills from when he was sick.

I passed this problem on to Jesus because if He wanted me to have this kitten, He would need to convince my husband.  The next day my husband surprised me with all the things to take care of a kitten and a card confirming we could get her.

Thank, You, Jesus for this miracle and making my path easy!  Jesus is available 24/7 any where for any thing.

New Beginnings

When the people I am advising die, this usually indicates spiritual growth.  One lady I was helping suffered from great fear.

Being afraid of both living and dying is extremely stressful.  To stop this fear, Christians must have such a close personal relationship with our Lord that we must continuously ask for help and He answers.

When this lady learned to sincerely ask Christ to come and save her, she gained His peace that surpasses all understanding.  This change was obvious with her new calmness, serious prayer life and ability to comfort others about death.

Becoming a fearless Christian is only a prayer away.  Thank You, Jesus, for Your help!

My Awakening

As a new Christian, I had God's guidance but did not always follow it.  I had relied on myself so much that I could not seem to understand or accept this new way of living.

After my many "no's" to God and then suffering the consequences from His discipline, I finally realized my foolishness.  Every time I finished what He told me to do, I always grew spiritually and learned that no matter how difficult the task appeared God would help make it happen.

The unpredictable support from humans was my frame of reference, but this did not apply in a relationship with God.  Supernatural support always involves miracles and amazing experiences to get the job done.

Thank you, Lord, for my discipline!  Pray to live a spiritual adventure!

God Disciplines His Own

After going to many networking shows and meetings to promote Tranquil Hearts, I was stopped in my tracks by a nose bleed.  I never had a nose bleed before and these ones kept getting worse.

One day as my nose was bleeding so bad that I was having trouble breathing, I realized I could die.  I had prayed for help, but God seemed to be unavailable.

Suddenly, I realized that my refusal to follow God's directions could have something to do with my nose bleeds and His silence.  So I repented and my nose stopped bleeding. 

Then I corrected my transgressions by reading the Bible, writing books, reducing the networking, etc.  

I'm grateful God stopped my rebellion and brought me to my senses for spiritual growth.

God Sends Help

After meeting God and receiving the motivation I needed, I decided to begin my new advising career.  My next step was to get a website, but I tried and failed.

Then I went back to the Lord for help and got directed to place an ad on the internet.  Over 80 web designers responded but only one name jumped out, Anna Marie.

Anna Marie was my Great-grandmother's name, which is the reason my middle name is Marie.  I contacted Web Designer Anna Marie to discover that she was exactly the person I had prayed for, effective communicator, professional, skillful, team player, easy going, creative, intelligent and oh, so nice.  I love nice!

Thank you, Lord, for bringing Anna into my life to help me.  Remember everyone, help is only a prayer away!

Make A New Year!

The Bible book of Mark covers Jesus Christ's ministry, death and resurrection.  

As a child, Mark met Jesus and the apostles when they visited his home and then was a disciple under Peter, Paul and Barnabas as an adult. 

The all power message of love and salvation that Jesus gave this pitiful world is the most important even since its creation.  

Christ is the only role model that teaches humans how to love so well that they can spiritually elevate to know their Creator Parent.

If a person does not like this world, then he or she can rise above it through the resolution of spiritual growth.  

What a new year that would make!

Suffering Is Good

Jonah was told by the Lord in the Bible book of Jonah to preach in Nineveh.  He refused because these people were his enemies and he wanted them destroyed, not saved.

God did not accept Jonah's response and sent a giant fish to swallow him.  After these very confined quarters, Jonah accepted the assignment and was let out to reluctantly complete his task.

All people, at times, need a shove in the right direction to do good.  If humans did not have a Loving Parent to discipline His children, then spiritual growth would be impossible.

Thank God for the many trials and tribulations everyone gets to experience for the opportunity of spiritual growth.  Without suffering, humanity would be lost.

Life Can Be Rough

Jeremiah had a difficult life in the Bible book of Jeremiah. 

He was a prophet sent by God to correct leaders that hated hearing bad news and refused to change.  Their bad attitudes caused the nation to fall by invaders and Jeremiah to lead a lonely, dangerous life.

Life can be difficult and challenging with God's help but impossible without.  Our Creator knows the big picture and where we fit into it. 

When people ignore God's directions, there are always inevitable consequences.  However, He is full of mercy and often a resolution can be found with repentance and prayer.

Embrace Your Purpose

Queen Esther in the Bible book of Esther saved her people, the exiled Israelites, from genocide.

Esther began poor, but God placed her in the right position at the right time to make this courageous act.  When she was first kidnapped, Esther did not know this was the beginning of her spiritual destiny.

Everyone is born with a purpose and the abilities to fulfill it.  God directs humans again and again towards their spiritual destinies but many fail because of their worldly programing.

People can only find inner peace and true happiness when they embrace their real purpose in life.

We Need God's Help

In the Bible book of 1 Samuel, there are many examples of human failures. 

Samuel replaced Priest Eli and his sons because of their corruption.  After Saul was king, he gave in to public opinion instead of following God, so David had to replace him.

This corrupt world demands conformity and hates anyone that thinks independently.  When people follow God, they must become independent thinkers with out-of-this world beliefs. 

To obtain true spirituality, we must ask our Heavenly Father for help and expect to be outcasts.

Trust God

Two major problems humans have with their Heavenly Father are trust and expectations. 

With God being limitless, He seems unbelievable and difficult to understand for our limited minds.  The book of Exodus shows many examples of these issues from multiple perspectives.

When God called Moses to lead the Israelites, he said, no, at first and made excuses.  Once the Israelites heard Moses, they expected their lives to become easy and rebelled against their many difficulties. 

Moses expected to be done with his mission within a year but the mistrusting Israelites caused it to become 40.

Everyone has a spiritual mission to accomplish on Earth for reaching heaven.  With help from others, Moses fulfilled his destiny and learned to trust God. 

Anyone can learn how to trust our Creator and follow his or her destiny when on a spiritual journey.

Love Yourself By Changing Yourself

When you have self love, you will want to be the best person you can.

One way to create this improvement is to write a journal about your life to find areas of resistance, doubts or negative thoughts that need to be changed.

After separating out these areas to change, you can develop a counter argument for each one and put these on index cards to read over and over until your thoughts are changed.

Holiday Thanks

This last Thanksgiving I decided to visit my relatives, but instead of sending them love to change them, I decided to just let everyone be themselves. At the holidays last year, I discovered that it would take me about two hours of mentally sending love to change my crabby relatives into pleasant company.

This year I wanted to practice acceptance, which would allow me to experience them as they really are with clarity and understanding. At the first house, I had a delicious meal, learned about football and received a lecture on my selfishness. At my next family stop, I enjoyed good company and conversation but had to leave early to deliver medicine to my daughter, since she was home sick.

On the way there, my car caught on fire, so I pulled off the road, ran from it and dialed 911. Some wonderful strangers stopped to help and would not leave until after the fire truck left and the tow truck arrived. The firemen were happy to be there and help! They even joked about needing some exercise after their big Thanksgiving Day meal and would not leave until the tow truck arrived.

After meeting all of these great people in my time of crisis, I felt like a part of a community of love and support. This had been a wonderful ending to a day set aside for thanks, and I certainly felt grateful to God for my variety of life experiences.
