Make A New Year!

The Bible book of Mark covers Jesus Christ's ministry, death and resurrection.

As a child, Mark met Jesus and the apostles when they visited his home and then was a disciple under Peter, Paul and Barnabas as an adult.

The all power message of love and salvation that Jesus gave this pitiful world is the most important even since its creation.

Christ is the only role model that teaches humans how to love so well that they can spiritually elevate to know their Creator Parent.

If a person does not like this world, then he or she can rise above it through the resolution of spiritual growth.

What a new year that would make!

Merry Christ Mas!

In the Bible book of Matthew, the highlights of Jesus Christ's life was described.

Matthew, a previous tax collector and then disciple of Jesus, knew Him personally and presented this biography in a logical, concise account beginning with His birth.

Since Christ came here out of love for all of humanity, the Magi journeyed from the east to worship Him.

Jesus Christ is our eternal salvation and physical representation of love.  Every year at this time people from north, south, east and west celebrate the gift of His physical birth into this dark world.

With the light of Christ leading the way, anyone has the potential for the awesome gift of spiritual awakening all year long.  Hallelujah!!

Answer God's Call

The prophets in the Bible books of Joel, Obadiah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi were devoted to the Lord.

They all received spiritual information to share with others because they followed His will.  No matter how scary, they had more faith than fear.

All people have the potential to be prophets when they answer God's call to serve.  However, the tricky part is following our Creator and not all the other influences in this world, especially our own egos.

Only with the Lord can we build our faith enough to overcome the fear.

Suffering Is Good

Jonah was told by the Lord in the Bible book of Jonah to preach in Nineveh.  He refused because these people were his enemies and he wanted them destroyed, not saved.

God did not accept Jonah's response and sent a giant fish to swallow him.  After these very confined quarters, Jonah accepted the assignment and was let out to reluctantly complete his task.

All people, at times, need a shove in the right direction to do good.  If humans did not have a Loving Parent to discipline His children, then spiritual growth would be impossible.

Thank God for the many trials and tribulations everyone gets to experience for the opportunity of spiritual growth.  Without suffering, humanity would be lost.

Answer God's Call!

In the book of Amos, the Lord called him to be His prophet when he was tending his sheep.

Amos did whatever God asked but still referred to himself as a shepherd and gardener.  He answered God because he loved his Lord, not because he was choosing a new career.

God calls people from every walk of life but few answer.  It is difficult leading a spiritual life here because this style does go against the world.  However, people must live for the Lord if they want to spend eternity with Him.

When people truly love God, they obey Him.

We Must Do Our Best

The Prophet Hosea in the Bible book of Hosea took an adulterous wife for children of unfaithfulness as an object lesson to Israel.

He preached against their wickedness and did whatever the Lord asked, with mixed results.  However, the outcome did not deter his obedience and determination.

When people truly love God, they must do their best no matter what the results.

Humans can only help and influence others, not control them because we all have free will.

The best we can do is to use our free will for obedience and love to the Lord.

Pray For Heavenly Help

In the Bible book of Daniel, the Prophet Daniel was so right with God that he could describe and interpret the king's dream.

When some jealous officials had Daniel thrown into the lion's den, an angel of God saved him.

Daniel wanted to have an even greater understanding, so he fasted and prayed for 21 days until an angel came to explain.

When people sincerely follow their Creator, they can do the seemingly impossible.  They can also gain out-of-this world knowledge.

All that is needed for heavenly assistance is a relationship with the Lord, so pray and, when necessary, fast.

Live The Adventure!

The Prophet Ezekiel in his Bible book of Ezekiel was God's watchman for the house of Israel.

The Lord gave him great wisdom and prophecy to perform his duties.  He had many out-of-this world experiences working for God, like with strange creatures of fire and light.

Everyone has a destiny to fill for God and when on this adventure, many unusual experiences will happen.

This mission requires great courage, faith and obedience to accomplish.  But when fulfilling this spiritual destiny, life becomes more exciting and unpredictable than any action adventure fantasy story!

Know The Truth

The Prophet Jeremiah wrote many sad poetic songs in the Bible book of Lamentations.

When Judah was destroyed by enemies because of its people's disobedience, Jeremiah was heartbroken.  As a prophet from God, he wanted to help his people, but they would not believe the truth he told them.

Everyone needs the ability to discern between truth and lies or will face the consequences.  Finding the truth in a world of deceit and illusion can be very difficult and time consuming unless a person knows God.

Our Creator loves each one and is available 24/7 for helpful guidance with sincere prayer.

Life Can Be Rough

Jeremiah had a difficult life in the Bible book of Jeremiah.

He was a prophet sent by God to correct leaders that hated hearing bad news and refused to change.  Their bad attitudes caused the nation to fall by invaders and Jeremiah to lead a lonely, dangerous life.

Life can be difficult and challenging with God's help but impossible without.  Our Creator knows the big picture and where we fit into it.

When people ignore God's directions, there are always inevitable consequences.  However, He is full of mercy and often a resolution can be found with repentance and prayer.

Accept Loving Correction

In the Bible book of Isaiah, the Prophet Isaiah helped save his people from destruction by correcting them.  The Israelites requested positive affirmations only but a prophet's job was to speak the hard truths from God.

Isaiah obeyed God without question and taught the people with many lectures and object lessons.

While people love to hear positive feedback about their behavior, this is not as important as being corrected.  Beneficial guidance can lead to spiritual growth and avoiding consequences.

Everyone needs the Creator for His loving direction, so pray for His advice.

Stop Addictions

Songs of Songs in the Bible poetically describes a beautiful love story.  King Solomon wrote this when he had 60 wives and 80 concubines, so he was not lacking in experience.

This romance sounds so exciting that one would think Solomon never married again, but he collected another 640 wives and 220 concubines.  What could one man do with 1,000 women?

Addictions can come in many forms, but they are all destructive.  Obsessive behavior clouds our thinking and becomes an obstacle in the relationship with God.

We have to recognize the problem, understand the cause, exert our will power, pray for help and never give up until the harmful desire is eliminated.

Find Real Meaning

In the Bible book of Ecclesiastes, King Solomon wrote about all the knowledge he gained.  However, Solomon found all this worldly wisdom meaningless and lost his close connection with God.

People can live for this world, but  if they search long enough, like Solomon did, they will discover meaninglessness, too.

Find real meaning in our existence by personally knowing our Loving Creator Parent and never letting it slide.

Gain Spiritual Wisdom

The Bible book of Proverbs has lots of wise advice.  King Solomon wrote most of this book from his experiences in the world and with God.

The human capacity in this physical form to understand the complexities of this world is extremely limiting.  The ability for people to understand God is even smaller.

However, God calls His human creation to be the best they can be through a partnership with Him.

We are made to connect with our Creator for a successful physical and eternal life, which is only a prayer away.

Friday, September 21, 2012

Praise The Creator!

The Bible book of Psalms was wrote in the form of songs and poetry to praise and/or petition God.

Many different authors contributed to this book from Moses to King David and Solomon.

God gave us all life and the opportunity to grow spiritually, so we should be very thankful and praise Him.

Since our Creator loves each one of us, He is available 24/7 to help with our spiritual growth but not to spoil us.

Everyone Is Tested

Job accepted and passed his tests of faith in the Bible book of Job.  No matter how bad his life or health became, he still trusted in God.

The only hope humans have for protection in this precarious world is God.  With God, people can cope with any trauma or disaster that comes along.

To qualify for this salvation, we need to follow God's will instead of our own selfish desires.  However, God requires a standard above this physical world, which is even impossible to understand without His help, so call on Him in prayer for guidance.

Embrace Your Purpose

Queen Esther in the Bible book of Esther saved her people, the exiled Israelites, from genocide.

Esther began poor, but God placed her in the right position at the right time to make this courageous act.  When she was first kidnapped, Esther did not know this was the beginning of her spiritual destiny.

Everyone is born with a purpose and the abilities to fulfill it.  God directs humans again and again towards their spiritual destinies but many fail because of their worldly programing.

People can only find inner peace and true happiness when they embrace their real purpose in life.

Good Leaders Need God

The Bible books of Ezra and Nehemiah tell how these two holy, righteous men led the Israelites to begin rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem.  Ezra and Nehemiah provided strong leadership for their people, so they could be successful.

When people step into leadership positions, they have an obligation to be role models for their followers.  This duty is even more important if they are working for God.

Since God knows everything, people cannot cover up their mistakes and get away with it.  While God holds us accountable (and we need this badly), all we need to do is ask for forgiveness and take His direction for getting back on the right path.

Stop Repeating Mistakes

With both 1 and 2 Chronicles of the Bible, more information about the Israelites was provided.  This covered God's relationship with the nations of Israel and Judah as they swayed back and forth between righteous and wicked kings.  No matter how great a king ruled, his accomplishments for the nation eventually fell to ruin with the next generation of so.

Whether reading Biblical or secular history, the same repeating stories occur.  Humans repeat their mistakes and limit their potential.  While this can be observed at a national level, it begins with the individuals.

People can stop repeating their mistakes when they become aware of what they are doing.

God wants people to think, so they evolve into better human beings.  While change can be difficult, God is always ready to assist for spiritual growth.

Become Loving

During the numerous subsequent reigning leaders in 2 Kings of the Bible, God sent many prophets and a prophetess to help Judah and Israel.  No matter how good and righteous one king ruled, this could all reverse with the next one.  When the negative finally out weighted the positive, these countries fell to their foreign enemies.

Like nations, people are a mix of negative and positive attributes bombarded with lots of choices.  Some of these decisions will be beneficial and some can even cause destruction.  All people can build up their positive thinking and reduce the negative to grow personally and spiritually.

While there are many arguments for keeping negative beliefs, the best reason to change is for following the one true God.  When humans change their thinking at a deep level to predominately loving thoughts, they become closer to their Lord.  God is Love and wants His human creation to love, also.

Invest In Heaven

In 1 Kings of the Bible, King David died and God chose his son (Solomon) he had with Bathsheba to be the next to reign.

King Solomon asked God for wisdom and became so intelligent that his reputation spread beyond Israel, which increased his wealth.  Unfortunately, King Solomon married hundreds of foreigners and due to these wives' influences, he became an idol worshiper, which started the downfall of Israel.

Most people strive for worldly intelligence instead of spiritual growth.  This physical life is but a drop in the ocean of eternity.  When a person invests so much energy and resources into a drop, the pay off is very small.

Just because people begin in this physical world, it does not mean they should build their treasure here.

Humans need to invest in the future with their Creator.  He is available 24/7 for heavenly investment planning.

Spiritual Lessons

Recently, I had the pleasure of teaching spiritual lessons at the Godfrey Congregational Church Labyrinth Services.  These lessons focused on how to have a close relationship with God through a Christian perspective.

Jesus Christ explained the love commandments to humanity so we would embrace the Heavenly Kingdom by changing ourselves from within.

This change requires awareness, belief and work.  The Lord commands us to not only love Him, but all others, including our enemies.

God is available 24/7 for anyone that sincerely asks with the whole mind!

My spiritual lessons are available in a free download on the home page of my website, www.tranquilhearts.com

Consequences Are Good

The Bible book of 2 Samuel tells about King David's life as ruler of Israel.

Despite having multiple wives and concubines, David seduced a married woman, got her pregnant and had her husband killed in war.  Then David married her and planned on keeping all of this a secret, but God sent His Prophet Nathan to explain the consequences.

We all have secrets from the world that we do not want revealed and pretend that God does not know them.  We cannot hide from our Creator, and the more responsible we are, the more accountable we are.

While we do not all have a prophet to explain our consequences, we all experience these results from our actions, whether we understand them or not.

With consequences from our behavior, we can learn to change and have the opportunity for improvement.

Consequences make us understand how foolish and destructive our human thinking can be, so we will seek forgiveness and salvation from our Lord, which is just a prayer away.

We Need God's Help

In the Bible book of 1 Samuel, there are many examples of human failures.

Samuel replaced Priest Eli and his sons because of their corruption.  After Saul was king, he gave in to public opinion instead of following God, so David had to replace him.

This corrupt world demands conformity and hates anyone that thinks independently.  When people follow God, they must become independent thinkers with out-of-this world beliefs.

To obtain true spirituality, we must ask our Heavenly Father for help and expect to be outcasts.

Truth Brings Love

The book of Ruth in the Bible tells the story of how Ruth found love.

Ruth was raised a Moabite and her people worshiped many gods.  She married into a family of Israelites and realized the truth, so she converted to worshiping the one true God.

When real truth comes, it brings opportunity along.  The problem is discerning truth from illusion.

Ruth followed her heart and this lead to eternal happiness and love.  Not only did she become a believer, but the great grandmother of King David and ancestor of Jesus Christ.

If we truly listen to our hearts, we can all find the same happiness and love.

Listen, Think And Become Wise

After the death of their leaders, the Israelites in the Bible book of Judges went astray with their idol worshiping.  Then God would discipline them and raise up a wise judge to lead them, either a man or woman.

Most humans need a spiritual leader to follow because they do not think for themselves or listen to God.  When people listen to the world and follow public opinion, they can find themselves moving in the wrong direction.

The biblical judges became wise because they were independent thinkers and listened to God.  With out-of-this-world wisdom available 24/7, everyone can become spiritually wise by sincerely seeking it through prayer.

Wisdom Comes From Understanding

In the Bible book of Joshua, he led the Israelites to begin their holy nation.

Joshua had started in Egypt and knew the difficulties that occurred with these problem people, so he was very obedient to God for obtaining His help.

When a person knows history, he or she can learn to not repeat it.  Wisdom comes from clearly understanding the world and its inhabitants.

Since God made everything, the more we comprehend this existence, the closer we will draw to our Creator.

And like Joshua, help is just a prayer away.

Think To Stop Mistakes

In Deuteronomy, Moses summarized the Israelites' history of not obeying God and warned against repeating these mistakes.

He wanted them to think for themselves and not blindly follow their families' traditions.

People repeat their mistakes throughout history as a nation, family or individual.  Repeating mistakes are bad habits that come from worldly programing.

To change these habits, everyone needs to stop, think, ask "why?" and decide if this is a good reason.

God wants people to think for themselves, so they can achieve spiritual growth.

Rebellious Humans

People love to have their own way and the Israelites in the Old Testament were no exception.

In the book of Numbers, the cycle of rebellion and discipline continued no matter how many more rules were given.

When God becomes the frame of reference for wisdom, it keeps humans humble because they have a realistic understanding of their limitations.  But even this realization did not stop Moses from disobeying God out of frustration and being punished.

Unfortunately, human behavior has not improved on this planet and the same anger problems can still be seen today.

Only through the wisdom of our Heavenly Father can this world be improved so sincerely pray for guidance and be totally open to His direction.

Rules For The Unruly

God taught the Israelites righteous living with His 613 laws in Exodus and continued in Leviticus.

The amount of laws and requirements needed to govern people directly reflects their many problem behaviors, which this group had in excess.

With rules on worship now in place, religious leaders became more accountable and responsible before God.  The worst sin humans commit is when they lead others away from the Lord, and there are many examples of this in the world today.

A spiritually barren life occurs when humans worship themselves, others or worldly gain.

Only through obedience to the Lord's wisdom can people learn to grow spiritually, so pray and ask sincerely for His help.

Friday, June 1, 2012

Trust God

Two major problems humans have with their Heavenly Father are trust and expectations.

With God being limitless, He seems unbelievable and difficult to understand for our limited minds.  The book of Exodus shows many examples of these issues from multiple perspectives.

When God called Moses to lead the Israelites, he said, no, at first and made excuses.  Once the Israelites heard Moses, they expected their lives to become easy and rebelled against their many difficulties.

Moses expected to be done with his mission within a year but the mistrusting Israelites caused it to become 40.

Everyone has a spiritual mission to accomplish on Earth for reaching heaven.  With help from others, Moses fulfilled his destiny and learned to trust God.

Anyone can learn how to trust our Creator and follow his or her destiny when on a spiritual journey.

In The Beginning

Genesis, the first book of the Bible, tells the beginning of God's creation and how He loves humans.

The people that returned God's love were obedient to His Will no matter what hardships resulted.  These exceptional humans knew they needed a Father to guide and help them grow spiritually.

Noah loved and pleased God, so he obtained information for physical salvation but witnessed the world's destruction in a flood.

Abraham loved and pleased God but underwent many difficult tests along with his material rewards.

Joseph loved and pleased God but was sold into slavery at 17 until his release at age 30 for a high ranking position.

Being God's beloved children does not necessarily bring riches and comfort.  The Father disciplines and tests His children for spiritual growth with any physical rewards being secondary.

Love God by viewing the eternal picture and striving for spiritual growth!

Understand The Bible

The Bible is actually separate books compiled together to show the relationship between The Creator God and His human creation.  Since God wants people to mature spiritually and live an eternal holy life, the Bible becomes a workbook on how to accomplish this difficult task.

To deeply understand this complex book, a person must be filled with the Holy Spirit for guidance or else the information will be filtered and processed through the internal worldly programing all humans receive in this physical realm.

When I began a close relationship with God in 2009, I discovered how the Holy Spirit lives in me as a constant support, guide, comforter and companion.  Over the course of my life, I had read the Bible many times but could not comprehend it because all I had was a worldly interpretation.

Now I understand the Bible spiritually and will share some of my insights on what I have learned in a series of future blogs.

Evolve Spiritually

Humans are born into the "drama" of physical life.  While the amount of  "drama" varies greatly, people can reduce negative experiences by changing their internal unconscious programing.

God created this illusionary world for learning and growing spiritually.  People need to appreciate their wonderful gift of life and take this opportunity to develop their souls.

To accomplish this growth, humans need to love themselves, others and God.

With this sincere love demonstrated, people would be peaceful, forgiving, gentle, humble, kind, joyful, patient, faithful and self-controlled.

Relationships Are Love

Jesus Christ gave commandments about love because humans need to learn about love through relationships, so they can grow spiritually.

The foundation for creating love is sincerely liking, respecting, forgiving and listening to ourselves.

Self-love is believed to be bad because it is so often mistaken for the vain, ego-driven, selfish, low self-esteem type of love, which is not love at all.

When we learn how to love ourselves, then this ability can be extended to God and others with amazing results.

Learn Through Suffering

This physical plane of existence is like a difficult school to prepare for the next life.

While God always listens to people, He only grants their prayers if this will help them grow spiritually and not to just avoid suffering.

Since humans learn best through the pain and struggle, it is very important to pay attention and analyze what is going on or else the lesson will just repeat.

Choose Beneficial Thinking

People fill their minds with needless worry, pointless busy work, futile judging, useless efforts rescuing or controlling others, harmful self-criticism and ineffectual future planning.

To change this internal chatter, people can become objective referees to consider both sides of every life experience by contemplating its value and understanding the purposes.

Since obtaining this loving insight is a process, people need to invest in themselves and take the time to choose beneficial thinking.

Love Is Success

All (from earth time and space to beyond) have been created out of the Joy from God's Love with a purpose.

Humans receive the gift of existence as a soul in a physical body with free will to learn about love.

Our Creator God provides us with innate talents, spiritual destinies, supportive experiences, helpful others and many clues as signs to evolve our souls.

Like a good detective, each person needs to search for the arrows that point the way to his or her spiritual growth, which is God's Will.

Following God's Will brings everyone success.

Successful Listening

All successful people use internal self-talk and self-listening in a supportive and beneficial way.

Since people have both helpful and critical voices in their heads, they should only listen to the beneficial ones that are:

A - accurate
S - supportive
K- kind

Any internal negative critics should be ignored or, better yet, fired and replaced with a loving judge.

Learn From Dreams

Almost all dreams directly concern the dreamers about the dynamic conditions in their lives, like hopes, fears, questions, conflicts, etc.

Dreams offer people new insights from themselves or God, so they should search for both a literal and figurative interpretation.

When people understand their dreams, they know themselves, the world and God better.

Fill Up On Love

The more negativity people have; the more "drama" enslaves them, and the less love they have to give others.

Since negativity has its foundation in fear and anger, when people reduce these emotions, their love capacity will increase.

If people are filled with love, they become freer and lighter with their actions reflecting this feeling. Then others can enjoy their acceptance and compassion.

Strive For Peace

To have a peaceful life, it is important for people to consider their family, friends, coworkers, etc. that they see on a regular basis.

Do these people have values and qualities that are a joy to emulate? Do they create an atmosphere of relaxation, acceptance and respect?

If not, people can improve their lives by making a conscious choice to eliminate or reduce these contacts for peace.

Sing To Success!

Humans are a very verbal species, which is why sound can be so useful for changing their thinking to success.

Individuals can listen to encouraging tapes or CDs, sing positive music, chant meaningful words and watch inspirational movies.

To choose the material that will bring success, people should use what works best for them and carefully select the information they hear.

Visualize Success!

Visualizing is like daydreaming, only instead of thinking about whatever comes to mind, it is carefully thought out and planned for a purpose.

This can be very powerful if a person can focus and be of one mind about the goal, because the human mind cannot tell the difference between actually doing the tangible activity and just thinking about it.

When a person places success in the unconscious programing, he or she makes better decisions and creates more opportunities.

Love Yourself By Changing Yourself

When you have self love, you will want to be the best person you can.

One way to create this improvement is to write a journal about your life to find areas of resistance, doubts or negative thoughts that need to be changed.

After separating out these areas to change, you can develop a counter argument for each one and put these on index cards to read over and over until your thoughts are changed.

Make Great Decisions!

Since beliefs are mostly "opinions masquerading as facts," people must decide what they want to think for a successful life. To make a decision on what to think and do, people need to consider:

1) What experience they want and is it realistic.

2) Do they have enough information on all the possibilities and have they considered the consequences.

3) When people are unemotional and objective, they think much better, so always take a relaxation break to calm down if needed.

In beneficial partnerships, people need to be friends, which means liking, enjoying, respecting and accepting each other.

All relationships can be loving and fair, when people compromise on issues, strive for balance with give and take, work as a team, listen and discuss concerns in a fact-finding way, give sincere compliments and use active, objective communication.

While a great partnership takes work, it is well worth the effort!

Reduce Dramas and Stay Healthy

People wear out their bodies from excessive emotion due to constantly activating the Fight or Flight Syndrome.

When the mind perceives danger and physically creates changes in the body for a person to run or fight, this constant repeated mental and physical stress causes internal damage that wears the body out.

The American Medical Association says that stress causes about 80% of illnesses and 60% of people die from their stress. So before reacting to a situation, people should ask themselves if this is worth being sick or dying over.

Change Your Opinions and Be Happy

Since most facts are created by a group consensus and fully established when accepted by the society with no proof necessary, people need to search for their truth.

People must realize that most of the unhelpful information received has been opinions masquerading as truths that can be replaced.

Unbeneficial beliefs make people very unhappy with all the subjective information that does not agree with the real self inside. People can change this outcome and improve their lives by analyzing everything; like thoughts, behavior, emotions, life, dreams, relationships, etc.
